Train with your own VALORANT settings

A free aim, movement and utility trainer for VALORANT players. It imports your sensitivity, crosshair and keybinds, so every drill feels like the game. Bots scale to your rank, and an aim coach tells you what holds you back and how to fix it.

Training that feels like the game

Same sens, same crosshair, same keys, same movement rules. What you practise here carries straight over to your next match.

Head flicks with the player's own imported VALORANT crosshair and sensitivity.
Your sens, your crosshair, your keybinds: imported automatically, every start.
Settings import

Plays with your VALORANT settings

ValTrainer reads VALORANT's settings files each time it starts. It only reads them, never changes them, and works the same whether VALORANT is running or not.

  • Aim: sensitivity plus scoped and ADS multipliers, with VALORANT's math (0.07° per count × sens, 103° horizontal FOV) and raw mouse input, so your cm/360 is identical.
  • Look: your crosshair profile, pixel for pixel, with movement and firing error: your primary crosshair at hip fire, your ADS crosshair while aiming down sights and your sniper dot in the scope, as VALORANT draws them. Plus your enemy highlight colour. Aim targets look like VALORANT enemies: a dark body with an outline in that colour.
  • Controls: all your keyboard and mouse keybinds (movement, jump, fire, reload, abilities and more), and hold or toggle scope.
  • Display: resolution, display mode, monitor, VSync and FPS cap.

No VALORANT on this PC? ValTrainer uses VALORANT's defaults and you set your sens in Settings. Several accounts on one PC? Pick one in Settings.

Aim coach

An aim coach that finds what holds you back

Every run records your mouse input, crosshair path and shots on your PC. The coach analyses them and tells you, in plain words, what to fix next.

  • An estimated rank, overall and for 8 skills: flicking, precision, tracking, reaction, crosshair placement, spray, movement and utility, each with a confidence level.
  • Problems sorted by importance, each with your numbers, why it happens, how to fix it and drills to practise: over-flicking, missing micro-adjustments, clicking while still moving, a low crosshair, late spray pull-down…
  • A run review on every results screen: what to fix next run, and what went well.
  • Sensitivity advice that changes by at most 18% at a time and stays within 20–80 cm/360.

Agent training for all 29 agents

The Agents screen groups every agent by role. Each agent page shows their abilities, which drill trains each one, signature drills played with that agent's own utility, drills for their role, and a 10-minute Lock-In with that agent.

  • Flash & Peek: throw your own flash (Phoenix, Skye, Yoru, KAY/O, Breach, Gekko) or nearsight (Reyna, Omen), then swing and kill the blinded defenders.
  • Smoke Execute for Brimstone, Omen, Astra, Clove, Viper, Harbor and Miks: plan on a top-down map, smoke with the agent's own mechanic and take the site. Scored on the sightlines you cut, with a replay.
  • Recon & Clear (Sova, Fade), Mobility Entry (Jett, Neon, Raze, Reyna, Yoru, Waylay, Iso) and Chamber Guns.
  • Site Anchor: hold a site alone against an execute, with a sentinel setup you place yourself: Killjoy, Cypher, Deadlock, Vyse, Sage, Veto or Chamber.
Deathmatch on a true-scale map against bots that roam, hunt and hold angles.
Deathmatch: first to 30 kills, or the most kills in 5 minutes.
Maps

Real maps at true scale

Map drills take place in blockouts of real map areas, traced at true scale from the official layouts and callout positions, with real cover, heights, defender spots, plant spots and the standard controller smokes.

  • Ascent
  • Bind
  • Breeze
  • Haven
  • Icebox
  • Split
  • Deathmatch: free-for-all against 3–6 bots at your tier. They roam, hunt you, hold angles and fight each other; the fallen drop health packs.
  • Site Clear, Post-Plant, Retake and Site Anchor: clear real chokes, hold after the plant, or defuse before the spike blows.
  • Flash Dodge and Sound Lock: turn away from real flashes with per-agent timings and sounds, and pre-aim from footsteps.
Vandal Spray drill: a spray chart shows the bullets against the target and the raw recoil pattern.
Vandal Spray: a chart after every spray shows your bullets against the raw pattern.
Recoil

Spray control you can see

The Vandal and Phantom follow Riot's documented recoil system: a vertical climb that plateaus, side-locked horizontal drift, spread that grows per bullet, and recovery after a tap or a full spray.

  • After every spray, a spray chart and coaching such as “pull down more” or “counter the drift right”.
  • Spray Transfer: kill every agent in one continuous spray.
  • Long-range Taps: 30–50 m Vandal taps, with a ring that shows when the recoil has reset.
  • Operator with a 2.5× scope and bolt action.
  • Aiming down sights like VALORANT: the gun stays low, a thin sight outline appears around your crosshair and the zoom eases in.

The per-bullet recoil numbers are reconstructed; Riot never published them.

Movement drills: counter-strafing, jiggle peeks and jumps onto ledges.
Counter-strafe, peek and jump with VALORANT's movement rules.
Movement

Movement that works like the real thing

Running adds 6° of inaccuracy and walking 3°. You are accurate below 27.5% of run speed, which is what makes counter-strafing work, and stops match Riot's measured stop times.

  • Counter-Strafe, Peek Duels (the bot shoots back), Jiggle Peek (bait the Op, punish during his bolt) and Jump Peek.
  • Jumping: jump and crouch-jump onto ledges, air strafing, airborne and landing inaccuracy, and fall damage.
  • Bots that fight like people: a human-like reaction delay, then they move their crosshair onto you and fire with a per-shot hit chance against your 100 HP + 50 shield.
Lock-In: a card announcing the next drill, then the drill with VALORANT-style targets.
Lock-In: about 12 minutes from easy drills to a deathmatch, then into your match.

Lock in before ranked

A short routine built from sports-psychology and motor-learning research. Everything runs at your real sens: easy drills first, then drills that adapt to you, then bots and a deathmatch whose last minute is easier, so you finish on a good note. Pick Short (≈7 min), Lock-In (≈12 min) or Training Day (≈20 min).

  • Check-in: rate your energy and confidence, pick one goal for your games and one cue word. A breathing guide comes up if you feel wired.
  • Adaptive drills: Head Flicks, Spidershot and Gridshot keep you near 80% hits.
  • Hand-off: your goal and cue, a three-step buy-phase routine and a Launch VALORANT button.
  • Setup check: sens, FOV, display, VSync and FPS cap compared with VALORANT, plus a crosshair visibility hint.
  • Your own data: results compared with your usual range, and an optional match log that shows what seems to work for you. It stays on your PC.

No study has tested an aim-trainer warm-up on ranked results yet, so ValTrainer doesn't promise a higher win rate. It builds on what the research supports.

Find your sens and your crosshair

  • Sens Finder (about 13 minutes): you alternate between two unlabelled sensitivities with flicks and strafe tracking, and it narrows down to the one you score best with. You get a VALORANT sens, eDPI and cm/360.
  • Crosshair Finder (about 6 minutes): ranks colours and outlines by contrast against the maps and your enemy highlight colour, times how fast you spot each one, then runs a bracket of shapes decided by your aim. Pick your primary, ADS or sniper crosshair; you get a full VALORANT crosshair code that changes only that tab.

ValTrainer never changes VALORANT. You apply the new sens or crosshair yourself in VALORANT's settings.

03 · Install

Up and running in a minute

No admin rights, no account, nothing else to install: .NET is bundled.

  1. Download

    • Setup.exe (recommended): installs for your Windows user, with Start menu shortcuts, an optional desktop icon and an uninstaller.
    • Portable.zip: no installation, unzip anywhere and run ValTrainer.exe.
    Get Setup.exe
  2. Windows warning?

ValTrainer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may say “Windows protected your PC” about a new download. Click:

    More info→Run anyway

The full source code is public on GitHub, so anyone can check what it does.

  3. Check the file

Optional: compare the SHA-256 hash with SHA256SUMS.txt from the same release. In PowerShell:

    Get-FileHash .\ValTrainer-1.4.0-Setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256
  4. Play

Your VALORANT settings are imported on the first start. Pick a tier and a drill.

To get coach ratings, play Head Flicks, Strafe Tracking, Peek Practice, Counter-Strafe and Vandal Spray a few times each.

Other downloads: Portable.zip (176 MB) · SHA256SUMS.txt · All releases. Both versions share the same settings and stats in %APPDATA%\ValTrainer, so you can switch between them.

04 · Updates

Updates itself, like Discord or Steam

Install once and say yes to updates when asked. New drills and fixes then arrive on their own, and your settings and stats are kept.

  1. ChecksOnce you allow it, ValTrainer asks GitHub at startup and every 6 hours whether a newer version is out.
  2. DownloadsIn the background, while you play. Downloads resume after a restart or a dropped connection.
  3. VerifiesEvery file is checked against the release's published SHA-256 hash. A damaged file is deleted.
  4. RestartsClick or just keep playing: it installs the next time you start.
  • Installer version: the new Setup runs silently and upgrades in place.
  • Portable version: the new ValTrainer.exe replaces the old one in its folder.
  • Opt-in: from version 1.4.1, the first start asks “Check GitHub for new versions?”. Nothing is requested until you choose Enable updates.
  • You're in control: Settings → About has Check for updates, Download updates automatically and Check now. Skipped versions are never downloaded.
  • Installed with a version before 1.3.0? Run the new installer once by hand; after that it updates itself once you enable updates.

06 · FAQ and privacy

Questions, answered

Is it safe? Does it touch VALORANT?

ValTrainer is a separate program that never interacts with the game. It never reads or writes VALORANT's memory, never injects anything, never automates or simulates input for the game, and never interacts with the VALORANT process or Riot Vanguard.

The only thing it does with VALORANT is read its settings files (%LOCALAPPDATA%\VALORANT\Saved\Config), the same text files VALORANT saves your settings in. It opens them read-only, never changes them, and works the same whether VALORANT is running or not.

Why does Windows warn me when I run it?

ValTrainer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen warns about new downloads. Click More info → Run anyway. To check that your download is the official one, compare its SHA-256 hash with SHA256SUMS.txt from the same release (see Install). The source code is public.

Does it work without VALORANT?

Yes. Without VALORANT, ValTrainer uses VALORANT's default settings and you set your sensitivity in Settings. You can also override any imported setting there.

Will it change my VALORANT settings?

No. The Sens Finder, the coach's sens advice and the Crosshair Finder give you a sensitivity or a crosshair code; you set it yourself in VALORANT's settings. “Use in ValTrainer” only changes ValTrainer.

Is it really free?

Yes. No price, no ads, no account, no paid tier. ValTrainer is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later (GPL-3.0-or-later).

If it helps your game and you'd like to support development, you can buy me a coffee or support it on Ko-fi. It's optional, and ValTrainer stays free either way. In the app, the reminder can be turned off in Settings → About.

Is it open source? Can I help?

Yes, all of it is on GitHub. Bug reports, drill ideas, tuning data and code are welcome: see CONTRIBUTING.md, open an issue, or give the feature requests you want a 👍.

Is it made by Riot Games?

No. ValTrainer is fan-made and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Riot Games. It uses no Riot art, audio or models. All 3D models, textures, skies and recorded sounds are CC0 (public domain); see the credits.

The game won't start or the screen stays black

Use the Start menu shortcut “ValTrainer (safe graphics)”, or run ValTrainer.exe --rendering-method gl_compatibility. In that mode the first start can freeze for up to about 30 s while shaders compile; later starts are fast. Still stuck? Press REPORT A BUG on the menu (from version 1.9.0) to send us your system info and log, or open a bug report on GitHub.

Mac or Linux?

ValTrainer is made for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) only.
